This week’s edition includes a how-to guide on picking a good book AS WELL AS sixty book recommendations from what Ashley and I read last year.

To make sure you don’t miss out on all our book recommendations today, my weekly mini-essay, the Yes, Ands for later and all our curations and essays each week, make sure to squad up with us and support the newsletter. Jason, Ashley, and myself would be ever so grateful for your consideration.

Full disclosure: these are all bookshop affiliate links to support independent bookstores except for the Audible exclusives, which link to our Amazon affiliate store and which we do make a small amount of $$ from.

FAVORITES OF THE YEAR

Rock, Paper, Scissors

I read a lot of thrillers and this was EASILY my favorite thriller of the year.

-Ashley

We Are The Light

Great character work, brilliant premise, and fantastic writing. Matthew Quick is a season pass author for me and this may be my favorite of everything he’s written.

-Knox

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue

The most enneagram four book I’ve ever read in my life and I loved following Addie’s journey through the novel and how the story resolved itself.

-Ashley

The Anomaly

You will either immediately love or hate the style of multiple character vignettes used to serve the larger story, but even more than that, I loved how seamlessly the premise integrated with all the different characters.

-Knox

To read our other 56 book recommendations and my mini-essay on how to pick a good book, support Yes, And either monthly or yearly.
